What Is The Saxton Jumbo Two-Unit Loan?

A jumbo mortgage written for duplexes, with its own limits and paperwork.

The Saxton Jumbo Two-Unit Loan finances a two-unit home when the loan amount is above the conforming limit. At least one program caps a duplex at $1,500,000, while others go up to $3,000,000 with a 700 or 740 score, so the program depends on your loan size.*

Duplex loans follow rules a single-family jumbo does not. The appraiser completes a small residential income property report (Form 1025), at least one program also orders a field review, and second homes must be one unit. At least one program accepts attached two-unit homes only.

Use it to buy, refinance, or take cash out on a duplex you live in or rent out. For cash out, at least one program requires six months of ownership first, and several programs cap cash in hand at $500,000.*

Why choose the Saxton Jumbo Two-Unit Loan?

Built for duplex owners and buyers whose loan is above the conforming limit.

Up To $3M On Two Units

At least one program lends up to $3,000,000 on a two-unit home with a 700 score, and another asks for a 740 score at that size.*

Live In One Unit

A duplex can be your primary residence while the second unit is rented. At least one program lets that rent count on purchases and refinances.*

Or Rent Out Both

At least one program finances a duplex held as an investment property. Cash out on a rental needs a short signed statement of how the funds will be used.*

Not For Second Homes

Second homes must be one unit on the jumbo programs we checked, so a duplex has to be your primary residence or an investment property.

Plan For Reserves

Expect to show savings left after closing. At least one program asks for 12 months of reserves on a two-unit primary home with a 700 score.*

Bank Statements Can Work

Self-employed? At least one program accepts 12 months of personal or business bank statements on 2 to 4 unit homes.*
