Large HELOC Up To $750,000
Shopping for a jumbo HELOC? The lines we offer reach $750,000 on a primary residence, with a score of 700 or higher at one program and 760 at another, plus appraisal rules on the largest lines. We do not offer lines above $750,000.
What a large line requires
Each item below is a requirement of at least one HELOC we offer.
- The largest line we offer is $750,000, in first or second lien position, on a primary residence with a score of at least 700.
- At least one program requires a 760 credit score for any line above $400,000.
- At least one program requires a 700 credit score for lines above $500,000.
- Lines above $500,000 are for a primary residence only at the programs that offer them.
- Expect an appraisal: one program requires it above $500,000, and another requires it above $400,000.
- At least one program allows no more than one existing lien on the home for lines above $400,000.

How Large Can A HELOC Be?
Up to $750,000 with the HELOCs we offer, on a home you live in, with a score of at least 700 and enough equity.
Two HELOC programs we offer reach $750,000, and the line can sit in first or second lien position. Lines above $500,000 are for a primary residence only. At least one program requires a 760 score for any line above $400,000, and another requires a 700 score for lines above $500,000. How much of your equity you can use also depends on your home’s value, what you owe now and your credit score.
Larger lines get a closer look at the property. At least one program usually values the home with an automated model up to $500,000 and requires a full appraisal above that. Another first checks for an appraisal it already has and otherwise orders a new one for any line above $400,000, accepts condition ratings C1 through C4 only, and declines the line if it finds any involuntary lien on the property. Title steps up too: at least one program requires a full ALTA title policy on lines over $350,000.
We do not offer HELOCs above $750,000. If you need more than that, ask us about a cash-out refinance instead. See our jumbo cash-out refinance page.
Why choose Saxton for a large HELOC
This page is for homeowners with significant equity who want a line of credit above $400,000.
Two Programs, One Ceiling
Two HELOC programs we offer go up to $750,000 on a primary residence with a score of at least 700. We compare them on your score, your home and your existing loan.
Your Score Sets The Size
At least one program needs a 760 score for any line above $400,000. Another needs 700 for lines above $500,000.
Title Steps Up Above $350,000
At least one program requires a full ALTA title policy on any line over $350,000, so expect that step on a large line.
Two To Four Units Have Limits
At least one program caps lines on 2 to 4 unit homes at $400,000. Another lists 2 to 4 unit homes among its eligible property types.
Line Drawn At Closing
At least one program draws the full line at closing. Another requires at least 75% drawn at closing, so plan to use most of a large line right away.
No Prepayment Penalty Option
At least one program charges no prepayment penalty, so you can pay down a large balance early without a penalty.

Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers about large and jumbo HELOCs.
$750,000, on a primary residence with a score of at least 700 at one program and 760 at the other. The largest lines we offer stop at that amount, in first or second lien position. We do not offer jumbo HELOCs above $750,000.
At least 700 at one program. Another requires 760 for any line above $400,000, so a score under 700 limits you to a line of $500,000 or less.
Not above $500,000; lines that large are for a primary residence only. At least one program allows second home lines up to $500,000, with a 640 minimum score. At least one allows rental and second home lines with a 680 score: up to $400,000 when nothing is owed on the home, and $200,000 to $350,000 behind a mortgage, depending on score. That program does not offer them in some states, including Texas and New York.
Yes, on the largest lines. At least one program requires a full appraisal above $500,000. Another first checks for an appraisal it already has and otherwise orders a new one above $400,000. The appraisal must show condition ratings of C1 through C4.
Yes. Lines up to $750,000 on a primary residence can sit in second lien position. At least one program allows only one existing lien for lines above $400,000, so a home with a first mortgage and another loan may not qualify for a line that size there.
At least one program limits each borrower to three properties and $2,000,000 in total with that program.
We cannot offer a HELOC that large. Ask us about a cash-out refinance instead, and we will check whether it fits your situation.
